Gayle and Robert have been actively involved in the studio for 12+ years and assumed ownership in 2007. They have 2 children dancing with TPDS and enjoy assisting students and parents growing in the love of dance.

She grew up dancing at Dyan's World of Dance--which is the founding company of Turning Pointe Dance Studio.
During her studio dance years Courtney won many regional and national awards. Courtney was a member of the State winning, Burnsville High School Blazettes Dance team, where she served as team captain her senior year. She directed and held team rehearsals as part of the responsibility of captain for the team, along with choreographing their dances. While in High School she was selected to be a part of the All State Dance Team for Jazz. Courtney began assistant teaching five years ago here at TPDS. Upon graduation from high school, she joined TPDS as a team teacher and has served the students of Turning Pointe in that capacity for the past two years. Courtney taught the pre-competition camps this summer at TPDS, and helped develop the curriculum for the tap portion of the camp. Courtney is currently attending a local university and pursuing her degree.
Courtney will be teaching Jazz technique for our younger kids, and will be choreographing and teaching for some of our competition and pre-competition lines. She will be team teaching the "Mommy and Me" classes as well as our pre-kindergarten/kindergarten classes.
Shay grew up dancing at the Pat Peare School of Dance in Eagan. She had the opportunity of performing and competing in such places as Branson, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Florida, a Caribbean cruise line, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC. Shay has been a dance instructor for over 10 years, concentrating in tap, jazz, and musical theatre styles for ages 7 and up for both recreational and competition lines.
Alicia has been dancing for the past 17 years. She received her BS in Dance with a minor in Theatre from Minnesota State University- Mankato in 2012. During her years at MSU, Alicia had the pleasure to work with professors Julie Kerr-Berry and Daniel Stark, along with guest artists such as: Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theatre, Mary Davis Stark, and Jeffery Peterson. Before transferring to Mankato, Alicia attended St. Cloud State and was able to be a part of the Repertory Dance Theatre, getting a chance to work with April Sellers, John Munger, and Morgan Thorson. She has taken classes from Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Brian Friedman, and the rest of The Pulse Faculty. Alicia also participated in Boogieography in the 2012 MN Fringe Festival this August.
Tammy grew up dancing with the Pat Peare School of Dance in Eagan. She had the opportunity of performing and competing such places Hawaii, New York, Florida, and Canada. While Tammy specializes in teaching preschool and kindergarten classes, she also teaches tap and jazz to both the recreational and competition lines.
Brittany has been dancing for 16 years training and studying all types of dance including jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, west African, modern, ballet, and Pointe styles. Her first experience with modern dance was in middle school which propelled her to travel to Washington D.C. as a 6th grader where she was chosen to dance at the Kennedy Center of Performing Arts. Brittany attended high school at the St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists where she got to work with many different local artists and performers. Her senior year, she had the privilege of going to New York to study at the Alvin Ailey Dance Center. Brittany has been a competitive dancer since the age of nine and loves competitions! Her favorite kind of dance to compete with is tap and jazz, but she is experienced in all types of dance. Brittany has competed at both national and regional competitions. Currently, Brittany is attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she is studying Retail Merchandising and Management and is also on the dance team there. Brittany is excited to be choreographing and teaching at Turning Pointe Dance Studio and can’t wait for the year to begin!
Herbert began his love for dance at the age of 15. He is a 2010 graduate of the Perpich Center for Performing Arts. Herbert is a Hip-Hop dancer who teaches and performs all around the Twin Cities. He has also performed at the MN Ivy Awards, Vanilla Ice's Half-time Show for T-Wolves, and has traveled to Las Vegas to perform at the Bellagio with America's Got Talent finalist, Illuminate. While still growing as a dancer, Herbert also teaches so that his students can continue to grow with him.
Sylvia has had dance apart of her life since a young age. Her education began in Germany where she attended both the Westfaelische Wilhelms University in Muenster and the Lola Rogge School of Dance in Hamburg where she received a diploma in Dance Education. Sylvia then travelled to NYC where she was part of an independent study dance program for the prestigious Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre. She has danced professionally in the Hamburg State Opera Company. She also taught at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and School in NYC and at the Continental Ballet & School in Bloomington. Sylvia is also trained in Yoga.
Corey began studying dance when he was just 13 years old and his love for dance continues to this day. He has trained with many professional teachers in the Twin Cities including: Mathew Janczewski (Arena Dance), Kenna Cottman (Voice of Culture), Edna Stevens, Amy Sackett, Arturo Miles, Erin Thompson, John Munger, Stephanie Shapiro, Pandora, Marcia Chapman, Betsy Maloney, Lara Ciganko, and Carol Schwarzkopf. Corey was a 2010 graduate of the Main Street School of Performing Arts (MSSPA), graduating with honors and an emphasis in dance performance. Although grounded in traditional dance techniques, Corey has pursued his interest in Hip Hop, winning the title of National Hip Hop Champ 2009/2010 at the Extreme Sport National Competition, as well as National Hip Hop Champ 2010 at the United Performing Association Competition. Following his high school graduation, he was invited back to his alma mater to both teach and choreograph a contemporary dance piece entitled Twilight for the MSSPA Dance Company. He continues to study, perform, teach, and choreograph in the twin cities area with an eye toward the larger national dance scene.
