Tammi Iverson

Miss Tammi has been teaching at WDC since 1996. In her 14 years with the studio she has taught a wide variety of classes. Primarily a ballet instructor, she believes ballet technique in many forms is the foundation of dance. Tammi grew up dancing from the young age of 3 in local dance studios around the metro. In addition to dance studio training as a child, she was part of the alpha class dance program at The Perpich Center for the Arts, a ballet and modern based Arts High School. Upon graduation from Arts High, Tammi continued advanced instruction and dance composition class at Zenon Dance Company and School. An apprentice and scholarship program participant she performed pieces choreographed by Danny Buraczeski, Cathy Young and Paula Mann. It wasn’t long before Tammi realized that the joy of dance came from teaching, and decided to become a full time dance educator and instructor. Sharing her knowledge of many forms of dance, her creativity, and positive energy, she continues to educate and inspire dancers of all ages. Her inventive choreography has won many top awards over the last 18 years in both regional/local and national dance competitions. Her favorite memories involving dance is the time she spends teaching her own daughters the joy of dance. Tammi recently owned her own studio and gave it up to come back to her first love-teaching! Tammi will be on staff here at TPDS as a ballet instructor, and technique instructor for some of the punch card classes. She will be the primary ballet instructor for our home school ballet program, and to provide help with the fine arts and competition details for the studio. We are lucky to have someone with this well rounded background and experience to complete the “ packages” for the competition and recreational dance students here at TPDS!!
